Early Recognition of Post Partum Depression Prevention Program

Between 50-80% of women become depressed after giving birth. For most women, these baby blues, or feelings of sadness, disappear after a few days. For 10-15%, these gloomy feelings linger and turn into post partum depression.

Post partum depression is much more serious than the baby blues and can affect a mother's ability to take care of her child. Luckily, it is a very treatable problem.

Corphealth offers helpful information for pregnant women and women who have recently given birth. In this material, you will find the symptoms of the baby blues and post partum depression, as well as the risk factors for developing one of these problems. You will also find an explanation of the different treatment options.

If you are a member and receiving pre-natal care, Corphealth will mail free information to you about baby blues and post partum depression. We encourage you to read this material and share it with your husband or partner. You can also request the information by calling toll-free (866) 279-7214.
